Northumberland care home host flower arranging activityResidents at Acomb Court care home, in Hexham, joined a flower arranging activity on 8th September, and some fantastic creations and new friends were made.

The group, including Thelma, Beth, Peter, Liz, Nancy, Alice and Theresa, who all live at the 76- bed residential and residential dementia care home, used a combination of roses, greenery from the garden, carnations and gladioli.

Some arrangements were displayed in the reception area and lounges at the home, and some were taken to the Residents' rooms. An arrangement was also displayed next to the book of condolence for her Majesty the Queen.

The activity went down very well with everyone, and is likely to become a regular session for Residents.

Lisa Steel, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “It was lovely to see so much participation in this creative activity. There was so much laughter, singing and general chat. The flowers have lasted well and have brightened up our home.”

“Due to the success of the activity, we will be doing more flower arranging in the future, along with other creative activities.”
