MP John Healey visits Silverwood care home in RotherhamSilverwood Care Home in Sunnyside, Rotherham was visited on 1st December by Wentworth and Dearne’s MP John Healey Shadow Secretary of Defence.

The 64-bedded friendly, purpose-built residential and residential dementia care home, which is owned by HC-One, was visited by MP John Healey.

Residents and Colleagues of the HC-One owned home enjoyed meeting MP for Wentworth and Dearne, John Healey and chatting to him about what life is like at Silverwood – which is an integral part of the local Sunnyside community.

MP John Healey had a guided tour around the care home meeting all of the Residents. He enjoyed listening to all their stories and experiences. MP John Healey took the opportunity to speak to all the Colleagues and to thank them for all of the hard work that they do.

Carrie Davies, Home Manager at Silverwood Care Home, commented:
“We were delighted to welcome MP John Healey, to our home. It was so lovely to be recognised for our hard work through the pandemic and share our journey with. I feel we were recognised for the kind and loving home that we are!” 

Wentworth and Dearne’s MP John Healey, stated:
“My dad was in a Rotherham care home during the pandemic, and I know first-hand how hard staff worked during that time in such difficult circumstances. 
“It’s good to hear that care workers are feeling positive about the future and that families are able to return to normal visiting arrangements. Residents told me how much they enjoyed living at the care home and about the excellent care they receive.
“Staff at Silverwood Care Home really do go the extra mile, whether that’s the staff in the kitchen, those providing care to Residents or maintaining the upkeep of the building. They do all they can to provide the best possible care to Residents.”
