Aspiring Home Manager programme
Are you ready to explore a new challenge?
Are you looking for a pathway to develop your skills, knowledge, understanding and confidence?
Do you believe you could be a HC-One Home Manager of the future?
If the answer is yes, then this opportunity may be of interest to you!
We will be launching HC-One’s Aspiring Home Manager programme and now is the time to express your interest in gaining a place on the development pathway.
Skills, knowledge, and behaviours such as leadership, resilience, planning, business understanding, kindness, great communication skills, influencing and using time effectively are all elements that are needed from our Home Managers, and they are all explored during the programme. If you recognise you share these elements and want to develop them further, then we want to hear from you!
The programme is designed to support aspiring Home Managers to build and grow their confidence and potential, to make an even greater impact at HC-One. Learning, sharing, and growing, are all key components of the 12-week programme. Participants will have the opportunity to focus on the pillars of Quality, Performance and People, and to explore what these mean in the context of managing a home, and what the key role of the Home Manager has to play in delivering to our Purpose in Action.
N.B. Participants are not guaranteed a permanent Home Manager role at the end of the programme; however, they would be considered for interview when suitable vacancies occur.
Who can apply?
Anyone who’s expression of interest is supported by their Line Manager and:
- Has successfully completed their probation period
- Isn’t being currently supported via a PIP
- Has no live disciplinary related sanctions on file
- Has a permanent contract with HC-One
How do I apply?
Stage 1: Register your Interest by completing the EOI form found in the Touch Resources Area
Places are limited, therefore applications will be screened, and you will either be accepted to the next stage, or provided with feedback on your application, and offered an opportunity to reapply at a later date.
Stage 2: Participate in a development centre which will allow you to demonstrate your potential as a Home Manager of the future.
As with stage 1, places are limited, therefore your output at the development centre will be assessed and you will either be accepted onto the programme, or provided with feedback and offered an opportunity to reapply at a later date.
How is the programme structured?
The programme runs over 12 weeks and will include:
- Working with specialist areas of the business e.g. commercial, quality and people teams, to learn more about how these areas work in collaboration with the Operational teams, to support delivering great outcomes for those we care for.
- Working with internal mentors, to help develop your confidence and practical knowledge.
- Participating in development workshops, and shared learning sessions, to swap ideas, experiences and guidance.
- Completing an accredited level 4 qualification in Leadership and Management.
The expectation is, that during the course of the 12 weeks, there would be no more than 12 days ‘Off-The-Job’ activities. Some travelling and overnight stays may be required.
The programme concludes with a celebratory event, allowing participants to share their learning journey with their Colleagues and managers.
