Residents and colleagues at Mossdale Residence Care Home in Burnholme, York, were touched by a heart-warming surprise when one of their residents, Maureen 'Mo' Massheder, received a very special visit from her granddaughter, Eden Headley and her husband to be, Elliot Headley, on their wedding day.
As Mo was sadly unable to attend the ceremony, her thoughtful family decided to bring the wedding to her. On Friday, 19th September, the bride arrived at Mossdale Residence to share her special day with her beloved grandmother.
The surprise was carefully planned with the support of the care home team, who had been sworn to secrecy by Mo’s family. Colleagues helped Mo prepare for the day, arranging for her hair to be styled and ensuring she was dressed up beautifully, without giving away the surprise that awaited her.
When the bride entered, Mo’s face lit up with pure joy, and the room was soon filled with happy tears from everyone present. It was a touching and emotional moment that created a lasting memory for Mo, her family, and the Mossdale community.
