Today everyone at The Beeches residential care home, on Tameside, celebrated Jean’s 80th Birthday.
The day started with Jean opening cards and presents from all her family and friends. She then enjoyed a video call from her daughter and son in law, who live in Scotland.
Colleagues at the home organised a party for Jean, with online entertainment from regular singer Samantha Jones, who sang her 1940s show, which coincided with he Queen’s birthday too, as well as St Georges day later in the week. It was also made special for Jean, as some of her favourite songs were sung as well as ‘happy birthday’ to her.
Everyone enjoyed some lovely cakes with wine and baileys, and when the party was finished, Colleagues sang ‘happy birthday’ and all the favourite party songs (everyone enjoys the ‘Hokey Cokey’).
Jean’s special day was finished with a visit from her daughter and sister, they brought a video of all Jeans family and friends wishing her a happy birthday. It was such a lovely day and Jean had a great day. She said, “Thank you, all of you for making my birthday so special it was so nice and I have had the best day.”
Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “It’s been a pleasure working with Jeans family to make her 80th birthday so special in these difficult circumstances. I am glad she had a lovely day and seeing her family made the day extra special.”
