A 90th birthday movie marathon and ice cream at Dumbarton care homeOne Resident is celebrating her incredible milestone 90th birthday with a marathon of some of her favourite movies and a helping of ice cream at HC-One’s Castle View care home in West Dunbartonshire.

Murial’s family dropped off gifts and a very special birthday cake for her to share with Colleagues and Residents at the home. When asked how she would like to spend her day, Murial told Colleagues she would like to put her feet up and watch some of her favourite films.

Colleagues organised a little movie marathon for her, complete with chocolate cake – her favourite – and as many cups of tea as she desired.

Murial commented: “I like that the staff surprised me with my favourite cake and sang happy birthday to me.”

But there was another surprise in store for Murial and the other Residents at Castle View as Wellbeing Coordinators at the home had organised a special ice cream trolley with a local ice cream parlour, Biggie Scoopz.

At the start of the year, Biggie Scoopz very generously donated vouchers to the home so Residents took it upon themselves to redeem them for a huge selection of ice cream for Murial’s birthday.

Colleagues decorated the ice cream trolley with balloons and played music while Residents chose their favourite flavours, with some going in for second or even third helpings of the chilly treat.

Castle View Home Manager, Carol Jones, said: “The company made sure they sent enough ice cream for everyone and gave us amazing service. They are very thoughtful to do this for us and boost morale!”
