A delightful afternoon lunch for Tameside care home ResidentsOn 13th April, Residents from the Beeches care home, in Dukinfield, which offers residential care, enjoyed a lovely drive to the countryside to have lunch at the Hartshead Inn.

It was a lovely sunny day and the group, including Residents Norah, Josie, Phyliss and Annie, enjoyed a drive through the hills, looking at the beautiful scenery, before going to the pub for lunch.

While having lunch the Residents enjoyed seeing the baby lambs in the fields and children playing in the park. At the Hartshead Inn, the Residents and Colleagues were given their own little dining area, and the ladies said they felt very posh.

On the walls of the pub were pictures of Hartshead Pike a local landmark which all the Residents were familiar with, these encouraged lots of conversation about visiting the pike with families.

Residents commented that their meals were lovely, and they enjoyed tea, coffee and Baileys to finish their meals off!

The day out was enjoyed by everyone, on the way home. Chris the driver took them round the town to streets that were familiar to the Residents. Chris always goes the extra mile to make the trip personal in whatever way he can.

Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “Today was a lovely day our first meal out and it was a huge success, the ladies felt so special in the private function room and enjoyed the food and the staff chatting to them.”
