Residents at
Park House care home in Guisborough, spent the afternoon of the 30th of August listen and playing lots of music.
Keith who is a Resident at Park House is particularly interesting in music as his daughter Helen and her partner Harry play in a brass band and as a duo. Helen plays the euphonium and Harry the tuba.
It was a lovely idea when they suggested to come and play some music for the Residents and also get them involved.
Each of the Residents had a percussion instrument which they played along to the music. They were singing along to all the music.
Dan another Resident at Park House used to play the guitar and even though there was no guitar Dan grabbed the ukulele and picked up the cords straight away. He loved it and said, “It is all coming back to me!”
Helen and Harry played lots of songs the Residents knew and were able to sing along. They had a great afternoon and were asking when they could come back.
One Resident, commented, “It was an enjoyable afternoon and something different.”
Julie Woods, Care Home Manager, remarked, “I am proud of the Residents making such good music.”
