A takeaway treat for North Shields care home ResidentsThe wellbeing team at Redesdale Court residential and residential memory care home, in Tyne and Wear, are always looking for new ideas and ways to promote the wellbeing of their Residents. They have recently introduced evening activities to their weekly schedules. This week saw the home’s second takeaway evening

As a treat, some Residents chose to order a takeaway. So, the wellbeing team arranged the evening and ordered the food of their choice.

To make the evening more special, the tables were dressed with tablecloths, a small battery-operated candle on each, around the world decorations hung and oriental music played in the background.

Residents were then invited into the dining room at a later time of 6pm to enjoy this special treat with a glass of wine.

One of the Resident commented, “"My husband used to always go for the Chinese on a Friday night for us.”

Another added, “The prawns were delicious! I’ve really enjoyed tonight, thank you for arranging.”

Stacey Taylor, who helped organise the evening, said, “I think this is a "brilliant idea which we have decided to incorporate once a month in our activity planner."
