Residents at
Alexander Court residential and nursing care home, in Crookes, have enjoyed a special two-week themed event by turning the home into a cruise ship and taking parts in lots of different activities/
Residents were taken on a cultural adventure where they could experience everything from Hawaii to the Netherlands, and South Africa to Australia. They enjoyed a virtual tour on a safari as well as other activities including flower arranging, dot painting, tasting local cuisine and lots of quizzes.
On the last night aboard the ‘ship’, Residents enjoyed a performance called ‘Somewhere on Sea’ by local entertainers, Spitmilk Dance; which was the perfect way to end everyone’s holiday!
The whole event got all Residents reminiscing, including Zandra who said, “I was offered a job on a cruise ship in South Africa.”
Jimitha Jacob, Care Home Manager, commented, “What a fantastic two weeks! We really did have our own Alexander Court holiday!”
