A visit from pony therapy at Jack DormandResidents at HC-One’s Jack Dormand, residential and nursing care home, in Peterlee, took part in pony therapy.

Mr P, the pony visited the Residents’ at Jack Dormand for a day of pony therapy. The pony went to each of the Residents rooms. They were able to stroke and spend some time with the pony. Mr P was such a good boy.

Katie the pony’s owner was great talking to all the Residents and it brought back memories from when some of the Residents worked in the pit.

There were so many smiles and even some happy tears. The Residents loved Mr P so much they wanted to keep him.

One Resident, commented, “I was over the moon to have a real pony in my room.”

Additionally, another Resident, added, “It has been so nice for Mr P to come and visit us.”

Ann Marie Shillaw, Care Home Manager, said “It was beautiful to see one little pony bring so many smiles to our Residents!”
