At Highclere, residential, nursing and residential care home in Milton Keynes, the Residents have a wish tree.
All the permanent Residents have told Wellbeing Colleagues their 3 wishes and then they have been hung on the wish tree, which is situated in the reception area.
The Wellbeing Coordinators will then try to make at least one wish for every Resident come true.
Jane's first wish was to fly a plane again as she used to be a pilot, her second wish was to see her daughters in France, and they will be visiting her soon, then her 3rd wish was to see a beautiful horse again.
Amanda one of the Wellbeing Coordinators put a notice on the Facebook group called ‘Milton Keynes Notice Board’ and she received over 200 likes and comments
With the power of Facebook Community the Wellbeing Coordinators made this come true for her and a lady called Kimberley Amaya and her lovely horse Echo came to surprise Jane.
As seen in the pictures Jane was absolutely amazed! Janes husband was overwhelmed at her reaction, she was so happy!
One Resident, commented, “Jane could not stop talking about the beautiful horse Echo.”
Gigi Jacob, Care Home Manager, added, “With the power of social media we have made a Residents dreams come true! It is amazing.”
