All about food for Avon Court care home ResidentsIt has all been about food this week at Avon Court residential, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Chippenham, including a Residents’ trip to the local carvery pub and a bit of homemaking from the Wellbeing and Housekeeping teams.

Residents were chatting to Colleagues on 25th July about what they would like to do for lunch, and it was suggested the group would go out for a nice spot of pub grub. Wellbeing Coordinator Lyn Neate and Maintenance Operative Rik Cranham accompanied Residents John Williams, Vera Benney, Bob West and Margaret Jeffries to the Pheasant Pub (Vera and Margaret event popped in for a shopping trip to the local supermarket too!)

All enjoyed the change of scenery and discussed how delicious the food was. One of the Residents joked that their meal was big enough to feed six people!

This July, Colleagues have also been trying out their skills elsewhere with Lyn and Head Housekeeper Kayleigh making some delicious meals for Residents including gammon, cottage pie and some home baking too (with plenty of cakes for everyone!)

Residents commented that they enjoyed the food with John Williams saying, “Well done to you both!”

Mela James, Home Manager, commented, “Food is a big part of life at Avon Court and Residents have a choice to decide what they fancy on a daily basis.”
