American themed day brings party vibe to Durham care homeResidents at HC-One’s St Margaret’s in Durham enjoyed a themed evening meal, which included burgers, fries and hotdogs.

At St Margaret’s, Colleagues love to put on different themed days, to mix up the Residents wellbeing activity and to give them something new to look forward to. On 24th of September, the days theme was American.

St Margaret’s Residents Olga Chester, Dorothy Butler and Peggy Beck spent to morning creating American themed art and colouring in flags and even making their own American flag buntings. After decorating the lounge with their beautiful works of art and American buntings, Residents sat down to enjoy a lovely American themed tea.

This included a classic American burger, with French fries and a platter of hotdogs for Residents to enjoy is they still felt a bit peckish.

St Margaret’s Home Manager, Katherine Swainston said: “It's great watching the residents being so creative and enjoying their day also.”
