An afternoon out and about for Sunderland care home ResidentsResidents at Falstone Court, residential dementia, care home in Roker, Sunderland, had a lovely afternoon out with a trip to the coast.

A couple of Residents had a lovely afternoon out at Seaham for some fresh air and to see the sights.

The Residents really enjoyed seeing the sights as they went to see Tommy the World War One Soldier on Seaham's sea front, which then started up a conversation about the war and how they lived during that time period.

One of the Residents, remarked, “How wonderful to get out and see all these different places.”

All the Residents engaged really well, and all stated what a lovely time they had not only seeing the statue but seeing the sea and, and they even got to stop at the crossroads while a train was passing.

The Residents said it had been years since they had seen a train so it was lovely to see, they all had a good time.

Julie Merritt, Care Home Manager, said, “Residents had a wonderful afternoon on the bus and can’t wait to do it again.”
