Appreciation at Wigan care home for wellbeing ColleagueThe Carrington Court team have been expressing their appreciation for Colleague Ian who has been coming to the Hindley care home every week to help with Residents’ wellbeing and activities groups.

Along with Wellbeing Coordinator Lindsay, Ian (pictured) helps with activities at the 48-bed, friendly and welcoming nursing home. He assists in organising group games; informative chats and they also does karaoke (which is a firm favourite at Carrington Court) with normally 6 or 7 Residents attending.

Giving up his own time to attend the home every Thursday, Ian enjoys making Residents laugh and making sure they have a really good time throughout the sessions, he said, “I really enjoy spending time with the Residents and staff, and making peoples day

Rebecca Asprey, Care Home Manager, commented, “Ian has become a valued member of our wellbeing team. Ian likes to tell us about his adventures, like helping with the women’s football in the summer and the staff also look forward to his visits each week.”
