This week at The Polegate care home in East Sussex, Residents have been getting their fingers busy with some arts and crafts.
A group of Residents have been painting some bird feeders hoping the fresh and bright colours might attract more and different birds into their garden. Some of the Residents at The Polegate are really interested in nature and watching how the garden develops and how the wildlife act.
Residents will quite regularly sit in the garden together discussing how they can improve it and keeping a keen eye out for new birds and listening for new bird songs.
John and Colin, two Residents who have been helping out with the feeders said they found the painting very therapeutic, pointing out how it’s been a quiet environment this afternoon. They also said they were looking forward to seeing the bird feeders up and being used.
Lisa James, Wellbeing Coordinator at The Polegate went on to say, “It was lovely seeing the bird feeders go up, John and Colin have high hopes for the summer!”
