Last month it was the birthday of one of the Residents at Amerind Grove care home, which offers nursing care, as well as nursing memory and residential memory care. Everybody wanted to give this lady a lovely and special day.
Hetty, pictured, turned 104 and began her birthday celebrations by enjoying a visit with her loved ones and opening all her presents and cards she had received. In the afternoon the wellbeing team, care Colleagues and fellow Residents threw Hetty a birthday party.
Hetty loves the pet rabbits that live in the home, so one of the Wellbeing Coordinators, Sally, arranged for a themed rabbit birthday cake to be made.
After the party Hetty requested that there be a game of bingo and she enjoyed this while eating some of her chocolate gifts.
Everyone enjoyed celebrating her special day and the birthday party.
Richard Sayer, Care Home Manager, remarked, “I am very pleased that Hetty had such a lovely day, to get to 104 is a very special birthday indeed.”
“A big thank you to Sally for arranging such a special cake!”
