Ashton-under-Lyne care home hosts end of summer partyAt Kings Park care home, Residents and Colleagues decided to make the most of the last days of the warm weather by having an impromptu fish and chip lunch and bringing out the karaoke machine.

Gail, Senior Care Assistant, provided the entertainment and sang a few songs. Some of the other care staff (and even the contractors working on site!) gave the Residents a song too, much to everyone’s delight.

There was an Elvis wig being handed around and some of the Residents even threw out a few of his iconic tunes.

Residents, Colleagues and Relatives enjoyed a delicious banquet of fish and chips and of course mushy peas. Maintenance Operative, Paul, then got the barbecue fired up for all to enjoy!

There were some nice cold lagers and wine offered out, for those that wanted to partake in a tipple, as well as a selection of cordials and fizzy pop.

Everybody enjoyed the brilliant party atmosphere!

Dave H, who is a Resident at the 40-bed nursing dementia care home, said, “This is brilliant especially dancing with my Mary (fellow Resident).”

Fellow Resident David O, added, “This is great, can I have another beer?”

Hilary H added, “I love this, everyone is singing along and enjoying themselves.”

Lisa Joy, Home Manager, commented, “What a really good day, it’s just what we needed.”
