Ashton-under-Lyne care home shortlisted at the Great British Care Awards and CRISTAL Care Awards 202Janice Hemmings, Home Administrator, and Lisa Joy, Home Manager, at HC-One’s Kings Park care home in Hurst Cross, Ashton-under-Lyne, a 40-bed nursing dementia care home, have been shortlisted for multiple awards at the Great British Care Awards 2022 for the North West region and the CRISTAL Care Awards 2022

The whole team at Kings Park care home are also celebrating being finalists in the Transformational Team Award Category at the CRISTAL Care Awards. 

The nominations for the awards are in recognition of the hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion Colleagues show every day to ensure the people they support receive the best quality care.

Janice, who is nominated for The Ancillary Worker Award Category at the Great British Care Awards 2022 and the Shining Star Award Category at the CRISTAL Care Awards 2022, has worked at Kings Park for 30 years and plays a crucial part in the team and in HC-One’s success. Janice is kind and caring, she is wholly committed to every part of Kings Park and interacts with Residents providing kind care, going above and beyond her job role to ensure Residents and Relatives are looked after.

Home Manager at Kings Park, Lisa Joy, who nominated Janice, said:
“It is rare to come across people who are so dedicated and trustworthy, and her efforts do not go unnoticed. Janice will always provide a listening ear and a helping hand; she makes relatives and staff feel at ease by taking time out of her busy day to pay attention to their every need.

People are always made to feel welcome, she always provides a warm smile, and makes people laugh, boosting morale. Janice is selfless, generous, fair, passionate, supportive and a great mentor and I admire her for the support that she has given to myself and the entire team over the years, Janice exceeds our expectations at every step.”


Lisa, also nominated the whole Kings Park team for the Transformational Team Award, she said:
“No one at Kings Park has a single job role we all work as one team with one mission to support our Residents.
Each and every one of my team make me proud every day and I will continue to lead them and develop them to become the best they can, by making them feel valued and appreciated so they all have a sense of accomplishment.”


Lisa is also celebrating herself, as she is a finalist in the Celebrating Personalisation; Remarkable Quality; Inspirational and Innovative Practice, Achievement in the workplace and Leading the Way Award Categories at the CRISTAL Care Awards 2022. 

The Great British Care Awards consist of 21 awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of distinction across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their area of work. The award ceremony of the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for the North West region takes place at The Kimpton Clocktower Hotel on Saturday 12th November 2022, when the winners will be announced. Successful winners at the North West regional awards will progress to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023 taking place on Friday 17th March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.

The Cristal Care Awards recognises and celebrates work in care from Colleagues across Tameside and Glossop from an independent provider. There are seven different categories and the winners for each category will be announced on the awards celebration evening taking place at Dukinfield Town Hall on Friday 14th October 2022.
