Bingham care home residents enjoy delightful day out at Nottingham BeachResidents at HC-One’s Fosse Way View Care Home, in Bingham, Nottingham, embarked on a memorable adventure to the Nottingham Beach, City By The Sea event in the City Centre – and this time, they chose to travel in style on the local bus.

Accompanied by Wellbeing Coordinators Fiona Benning and Natalia Zakrzewska, Ian Smith, Senior Care Assistant, and a familiar face from the administration team Louise Redgate, residents Yvonne, Sandra, and Peggy set off from outside Fosse Way View, taking a nostalgic journey along old routes that even passed Yvonne’s former street.

Upon arrival, the group was instantly immersed in the lively atmosphere, as the joyful sounds of laughter and screams from the fairground rides mixed with the delicious aroma of freshly made donuts. The bustling event offered plenty to explore – from the beach bar and large sandpit to the inviting pool area.

Sandra couldn’t resist the tempting donuts, calling them “finger-licking good”. Meanwhile, Yvonne was delighted by the lively scene and even considered a ride on the big swings.

Fiona Benning, HC-One’s Fosse Way View Wellbeing Coordinator, said:
“It was touching to see Yvonne, Sandra, and Peggy so full of joy at Nottingham Beach. From the nostalgic bus ride to the lively atmosphere and delicious treats, the day was filled with laughter and precious memories.”

Resident Yvonne added:
“It was a wonderful day thoroughly enjoyed it. We had so much fun singing.”

To round off the day, the group indulged in a sumptuous Italian meal at Zizzi’s, accompanied by glasses of fizz, before catching the bus back home.
