Birthday celebrations for Nottingham ResidentOne Resident at Fosse Way View in Bingham, which provides residential and residential dementia care, has recently enjoyed celebrating her birthday. 

Brenda Stevenson, a Resident at Fosse Way View, was born in 1932 and recently celebrated her 90th birthday at the care home. Brenda got married when she was 18 and has a son and daughter with 3 grand-children and 2 great-grandchildren, she said “I really love it when they come to visit me”. She has lived in Nottingham all her life and previously worked for John Lewis and at the Boots factory. 

Speaking about her hobbies and interests, Brenda said she enjoys meeting up with her friends for a cup of tea and a chat, but in her younger years, really enjoyed playing golf. Brenda went on to say that her secret to long life was being happy and always keep smiling! 

Brenda received a visit from her daughter, Lynda, who brought gifts, cards, and some beautiful flowers. Brenda’s grand and great grandchildren also made window visits to see her. Later in the day, Residents of the Bluebell community sang Happy Birthday to her and enjoyed some delicious birthday cake. 

Liz, the Home Manager commented afterwards, “I’m so glad Brenda enjoyed her birthday, she looked so happy to see her family”.
