Black History Month from Acacia Lodge homeThe whole of HC-One celebrated Black History Month throughout October.

Colleagues and Residents talked about influential black people who have shaped history and afterwards created a notice board (pictured).

They watched and listened to an amazing webinar by Dr Patrick Vernon OBE, who is a social commentator and political activist of Jamaican heritage.

Residents enjoyed meals from a special menu which was put together consisting of some delicious dishes including West Indian beef stew with rice and peas.

The Residents enjoyed trying the food.

Simona Antone, Home Manager, remarked, “Black History Month was very successful at Acacia Lodge and we all enjoyed the celebrations; Colleagues and Residents alike.”
