Blossoming friendship takes a trip back in time for Sheffield care home Residents
At HC-One’s Swallownest care home, in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, a favourite pastime is reminiscence activities together in a social group, and that’s exactly what Residents Margaret and Beatrice have been doing.

Over their time living at the 64-bed residential and nursing care home, Margaret Young and Beatrice Shields have become very good friends and found that they have a lot ion common. The pair have been having a looking through old photos and belonging recently and sharing their lives with each other, which has in turn brought them closer and they have now become best friends.

On 12th June, Margaret and Beatrice spent some special time together looking at photographs from one of Margaret’s most valuable albums, her wedding album. Her daughter-in-law Yvonne brought the album in, and the group talked about how beautiful the photos were. It was a lovely activity to share with people.

Jan Myers, Home Manager at Swallownest, said, “Days like these make our hearts burst with happiness for the joy that we can create for our Residents. Thank you for sharing your treasures with us Margaret. It was wonderful.”
