Bonfire night celebrations at Milliner HouseThis month at Milliner House in Luton, which offers residential and residential dementia care, Residents have remembered the 5th of November

Residents at Milliner House were treated to a small display of fireworks, which was organised by the Wellbeing Coordinators. The fireworks were set off in their spacious garden, which was perfect for a little display. Residents enjoyed lighting up their sparklers to mark the occasion. The evening prompted much reminiscing among the Residents about their childhood, and also taking their children to watch large displays around Luton town.

There was lots of conversation revolving around Guy Fawkes, and the stories behind fire works night in general. One Resident said, “Oh it is wonderful, I remember taking my children to see the fireworks and how much they enjoyed it” another commented “What a fantastic evening, today I am having a good day”.

Once the display had finished, Residents all came together in the living room for a hot drink to get themselves warmed back up.

Kathryn, the Home Manager said afterwards, “The conversations were wonderful and it was great seeing Residents who live on different communities coming together and having fun”.
