Residents have enjoyed an evening of fun, food and games to celebrate Burns Night this year at HC-One’s Ferndale Court care home in Widnes, Cheshire.
Residents taste-tested Lorne sausage, Scotch pies and the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties. They also enjoyed sweet treats including clootie dumpling and shortbread, all washed down with hot toddies and a dram or two of whisky.
The bar was certainly open that night as Residents enjoyed a merry Burns Night with plenty of Scottish music. For those who didn’t like whisky, there were plenty of beer, wine or soft drinks on offer.
It was a week of celebrations and delicious food at Ferndale Court as Residents celebrated National Pie Day just two days earlier.
Wellbeing Coordinator Kevin stacked a food trolley high with both savoury and sweet pies. He decorated the trolley with posters of Desperate Dan and his cow pies as well as the infamous Mrs Lovett of Fleet Street.
To end the day, Residents watched on and laughed as Colleagues played a few rounds of Splatter Face; a hilarious game were players race against the clock to avoid a face full of whipped cream.
