Care Home Open Week plans for SilverwoodNottingham’s Silverwood care home have some fantastic activities and events happening for their open day on the 1st of July.

Care Home Open Week is a little different this year with the activities across the nation taking part over a week, as opposed to just one day as with previous years. It is hosted by Championing Social Care, a volunteer-led group with the aim of ensuring public understanding, appreciation, and respect for social care.

Colleagues at Silverwood have been arranging a number of different performers, entertainers and general fun activities to take place. There is a Disney themed fancy dress happening for the day, encouraging guests, Residents and Colleagues to dress up as whichever Disney character that takes their fancy.

There is also a wider range of different activities for people to get involved with such as a minute horse petting zoo, bouncy castle, outdoor games and a baking competition. Throughout the day there will be a couple of entertainers performing at home, Konnor Martin and Johnny Victory will be there at various times during the day and there will be a BBQ and drinks available throughout.

Debra, the Home Manager said, “Everybody is very excited for our Open Day here at Silverwood, we have a nice range of different activities to enjoy!”
