Residents at HC-One’s
Defoe Court, residential and nursing care home, in County Durham have recently celebrated St Andrews Day.
At Defoe Court, the home was decorated in Scottish flags, Residents wore Scottish hats and listened to bagpipes play in the background.
Residents sampled some Scottish delights such as Lorne sausage, scotch pies, shortbread, haggis and a ‘wee dram’ of whiskey to wash it down.
The Residents enjoyed the day and waving the Scottish flags.
May, a Resident, said, “I enjoyed the day as I am from Scotland and feel proud of my heritage.”
Care Home Manager, Sarah Todd, added, “I’ve enjoyed having a taste of square sausage, it’s the one thing I miss having since leaving Scotland.”
