The Residents at
Balcarres in Dundee, which offers residential and residential memory care, for those living with dementia, were treated to a party to celebrate National Country Music Day.
The staff decorated some cupcakes with cowboy toppers in the morning and then set up for the party. The karaoke of country songs was really good, and everyone knew the songs and sang along to them.
All the staff dressed up in cowboy costumes and entertained the Residents and lots of different refreshments and nibbles were on offer, and everyone had a great day of dancing.
The Residents loved the karaoke singing, and one Resident Ernie said, “Yeee ha cowboy” whilst pretending to shoot a gun!
One Colleague commented, “I like seeing the quiet Residents having a go on the karaoke”.
Lynn McLean, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It is so lovely to the staff and Residents getting into the spirit of things and having such a great time together”.
