Celebrations at Park House for World Alzheimer’s DayThe staff and Residents at Park House care home in Guisborough which offers and residential memory care, for those living with dementia, celebrated World Alzheimer’s Day.

The home decided to have a special celebration for World Alzheimer’s day on the memory care floor, a special celebration just for them.

The lounge was decked out with flags and symbols from other countries as well as the UK and the staff all dressed up in the traditional colours of a variety of countries.

They had a concert of songs from around the world presented by the staff and it was surprising just how many songs the Residents knew and joined in with.

The Residents all had a different hat or prop, again representing other countries and after the concert, the kitchen had done a lovely afternoon tea complete with home baked cream scones and fresh fruit.

The Residents especially enjoyed seeing the staff dressed up and wearing different hats themselves.

Julie Woods, Care Home Manager remarked, “It was a wonderful afternoon for all on our memory care floor, they all had a lovely time”.
