Residents over at
April Park in Derbyshire, which offers residential care, have been enjoying Chinese New Year celebrations with Colleagues.
To mark the coming of the year of the tiger, Residents have got themselves involved in a Chinese crafts day. A number of different Chinese New Year animals were made including a large dragon and a display with tigers. Margaret, a Resident at April Park said, “It’s great to celebrate other cultures. We’ve all enjoyed the fun of today whilst celebrating the Chinese New Year”.
Residents also enjoyed cracking open their fortune cookies and comparing, one Resident said, “My fortune wasn’t great, but it tasted lovely”. Whilst another Resident went on to say, “What a creative way to celebrate the Chinese New Year”.
Christine, the Home Manager commented afterwards, “It’s great to see the Residents embracing other cultures and celebrating them in such a creative fashion”.
