Chippenham care home Residents participate in Big Garden BirdwatchResidents at Avon Court care home, in Rowden Hill, Chippenham, love watching the birds outside the window of the care home, as well as sitting in the garden on those long summer days, so the Big Garden Birdwatch was a great opportunity to mark this fantastic hobby in style.

The Big Garden Birdwatch, which takes part at the end of January and is organised by the RSPB, was the instigator for the home’s wellbeing team to organise some themed arts and crafts. There were also some competitive games including ‘How many different species of birds can you spot?’ Residents were particularly amused to see several squirrels on the home’s bird feeder.

All Residents that took part at the 56-bed residential, nursing and nursing dementia care home, including Vera Benney (pictured) really enjoyed talking about the different types of birds with each other.
