The festive season is well and truly upon
Willow Court care home, in Cherry Willingham, Lincoln, as the home has been taking part in a virtual care home Christmas carol concert, as well as holding their Christmas fair and the local primary school even came to visit.
Earlier in the month, the 54-bed residential and residential dementia care home joined in virtually with seven other care homes and a primary school to all get into the Christmas spirit. Colleagues and Relatives all sang a different Christmas carol over Microsoft Teams and it’s going to be a regular activity in the home now. The group also had a selection of festive treats such as Baileys, sherry and mince pies.
One of the Residents said, “We had a lovely time it was a different experience.”
Charmain Cottam, Home Administrator, commented, “That was great, it was lovely to see all the Residents join in and sing.”
On 13th December, children from the local Cherry Primary School came in to sing Christmas carols to Residents. and what beautiful voices they had. The Residents loved watching the little children sing.
Following on, the home hosted their Christmas fair, for the first time in 3 years and what a success it was!
Colleagues, Residents and Relatives were helping on the stalls and the whole atmosphere was tremendous with many people from the local village attending. They raised a total of £535 towards the Residents fund.
The Residents had so much fun visiting the stalls, buying things and playing games.
One of the Residents said, “It was so nice to get back to normality and see some familiar faces again.”
Charmain added, “What a lovely day it has been. Very well organised. It was nice to see so many faces and everyone pulling together.”
