December 10th marked a very special evening for
Manor House residential, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Upwood. Residents were treated to a festive, exciting, magical mystery tour around The Fens to reminisce and enjoy the Christmas light displays.
Community bus driver David welcomed new and old faces onto his bus and treated the party to fabulous displays around the towns and houses.
Residents joined Colleagues with Christmas sing-alongs to carols and festive music. The evening ended with a chip shop stop.
Eva, who is a Resident at the home, said, “So much has changed since I did Christmas, we never had the money for displays like this.”
Doreen added, “It’s made me feel very Christmassy now. Thank you for bringing me.”
“It was a delight to take Residents out and about, it was very popular, and another trip has been booked for the 22nd.”
Farai Maringa, Home Manager, commented, “This was a major steppingstone in the Residents’ wellbeing for coming out into the community and doing something out of their comfort zone. After they were so proud of themselves it was an honour to be a part of it.”
