On Tuesday Residents at Leighton Court care home, in Wallasey, Residents took part in making flowers and hearts, out of modelling clay in preparation for Valentine’s Day.
Residents including Millie, Linda, Doreen, Bridie, Audrey and Dorothy enjoyed shaping the clay into hearts and flowers which were then left to air dry for a couple of days. Once the models were dry, today Residents took their time to paint and finish off with some beautiful designs. They commented on what a nice relaxing activity it was.
Afterwards, Residents celebrated Valentine’s Day with a three-course meal and a glass of sherry or wine, along with some heart shaped chocolates.
The room and dining tables had been decorated with heart shaped balloons and heart shaped confetti which sat two Residents per table.
After lunch Residents had a film afternoon in the lounge, where they watched the ‘Love Actually’ – a firm favourite.
Assistant Cook, Hannah, made Valentine cupcakes as well as strawberries and marshmallows dipped in chocolate, for everyone to enjoy whilst they watched the film.
A good time was had by all including Linda, Rosaleen, Audrey, Doreen, Bridie, Millie and Hannah who all particularly enjoyed having a drink and watching the film with the company of others.
Lisa, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “Everyone had a good time! What a wonderful Valentine’s Day we had.”
