This afternoon, Residents at The Beeches care home, which offers residential care to people in Dukinfield, enjoyed a coffee and cheese afternoon.
Residents had the option of trying three different types of cheeses: Wensleydale and cranberry, cheese with chive and onion and mature cheddar. They also sampled some Brussels pate and salami served with sweet pickle and pickled onions. The spread was finished with a selection of cakes and different coffees.
Doreen, who lives at The Beeches, said, “Them cheeses were lovely. I really enjoyed them I have had a nice afternoon with you all.”
Residents’ favourite music was played in the background, and a few games of dominoes were also played between Colleagues and Residents.
The afternoon was enjoyed by all. Resident Kathy commented, “It’s been such a nice change. I love cheese and pickles and it was just nice to sit and have something nice and spend time together.”
Fellow Resident Mavis added, “The food was lovely, it was a nice treat.”
Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “This afternoon was lovely seeing the Residents enjoy foods that they all like, have a good chat and playing dominoes having friendly competitions between each other.”
