Colleagues at HC-One’s
Harley Grange care home in Leicester had a chat with Residents about the ongoing situation, so decided to look at some changes to make in the wellbeing schedule and home menu.
Residents joined Colleagues in the lounge and started brainstorming ideas which they then wrote on their chart. All the Residents contributed their ideas from which Colleagues then compiled a very detailed chart about keeping healthy and the benefits of exercise, however small that movement might be.
Residents and Colleagues discussed the types of foods they should eat, drinking lots of water and the benefit of proteins and vitamins to keep them healthy.
Harley Grange Colleagues also talked about personal hygiene, especially the importance of washing hands. They also spoke about letting fresh air into the home and getting outside now the weather is improving to enjoy the sunshine and stock up on Vitamin D.
Harley Grange Home Manager Anne Upton said “It was fantastic to hear the suggestions from our Residents for keeping healthy in a pandemic.”
Conveniently situated in Leicester, Harley Grange is an attractive, purpose-built care home with 34 beds, offering residential and nursing care.
