Consett care home Residents take a trip to local reservoirSome of the Residents from Greenways Court care home in Consett took a trip out o the local reservoir on the 28th of October.

Making the most of the sunshine, Noreen, Ted, Brian, Maureen and Catherine, Residents of the 51-bed residential and residential dementia care home, hopped on the minibus for a drive to Derwent Reservoir.

The reservoir holds a special place in some of the Residents hearts as they would visit when they were younger. Maureen used to be a rambler and loved to get out walking. She said the trip made her sleep so much better after getting some fresh air and exercise.

Ted and Brian are lived locally to the reservoir and have visited many times over the years.

The Residents had a lovely day out and really enjoyed the fresh air. Noreen thought it was a bit chilly so stayed on the bus and watched the peaceful water on the reservoir.

It was a great day and the Residents really enjoyed spending time out in the countryside.

Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, commented, “The Residents had a lovely day out in the countryside and are looking forward to another trip to Derwent Reservoir.”
