One very special Resident at HC-One’s
Hartford Court residential, day care and residential memory care home, in Northumberland turned a centenarian on 29th January and what a celebration it was, with the whole community getting involved!
Alice Mitchell, who lives at Hartford Court, began her birthday celebrations with the local school, Hillcrest’s, pupils who made a banner and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her.
Then Jackie Burt, who is the Community Champion at the local Asda Cramlington store, arrived with a cake for Alice and some flowers.
Next pupils from Shanklea School Choir also arrived at the home to sing and present Alice with lots of cards and a banner.
Sister HC-One homes, and the Life Begins Day Centre also sent in cards and wishes for Alice.
Alice’s family arrived with more cards and gifts and her daughter, Catherine, said she was overwhelmed with everything that had been done for her mum.
Home Manager, Rachel Rennie-Doran, said, “It was a tribute to the whole community the way everyone joined in to do their best for Alice’s special birthday.”
