Derbyshire Residents celebrate Easter weekendAt Bankwood care home in Derbyshire, which provides residential and nursing care, Residents had a lovely weekend celebrating Easter weekend.

On the lead up to Easter, there was many different arts and crafts activity days, making cards, decorations and of course the all-important Easter bonnet. There was an Easter bonnet competition that all the Residents who participated in enjoyed. John, a Resident at Bankwood really enjoyed making the bonnet and was crowned the winner for this year!

On Easter Friday, Residents enjoyed a different kind of dessert for lunch, it was a cheesecake inside of an Easter egg! At first glance many didn’t fancy it, but soon as they started tucking in the opinions began to sway, others also enjoyed some hot cross buns in the afternoon whilst the Easter raffle was drawn.

Everybody had a lovely day on the Easter Sunday, having simnel cake as a snack and Residents were also treated to having some fun with Guinea pigs that had been brought in by some Colleagues.

Residents very much enjoyed the time with the guinea pigs, with one commenting, “What a lovely Easter Sunday, I loved seeing the guinea pigs”. Others praised the staff on what a fantastic effort they had gone to in making the Easter weekend special for everybody.

Izeta, the Home Manager said, “What a beautiful weekend, everybody seemed like they really enjoyed themselves”.
