This week at
Dovedale Court in the West Midlands, which provides nursing and residential dementia care, there was a double birthday celebration for a Resident and a Colleague.
On the 28th of October, there was joint birthday celebration for Betty, a Resident who turned 95 and Becky, the Home Administrator who turned 40. Both enjoyed the day that they have shared together, who received gifts and cards from everybody. Betty said she cannot wait to have her birthday tea tonight and eat as much cake as she can! Betty’s daughter gave her a new outfit to wear on her birthday which was well received.
The lounge had been decorated with banners and balloons for their birthdays, which has brought both much joy. When the cake came out everybody joined in to sing Happy Birthday to them both, which put a massive smile on both Becky and Betty’s face.
Dawn, the Home Manager said afterwards, “it was lovely to see Betty with a big smile on her face as everybody sang happy birthday to her”.
