Recently at John Joseph Powell nursing care home, in Prescot, they had some female mallard ducks arrive on the pond, and a little while later, six ducklings have arrived and are now happily swimming around under the very watchful eye of mother duck.
This is the first time that the care home has had ducklings on the pond.
The Residents living at the home are so happy at watching the ducklings going about their daily business and they have loved feeding the ducklings too.
Graham Penny, Home Manager, commented, “This is the first time we have had ducklings at the home. I have checked with one member of staff who has worked 25 years at the home and she has never known the home have ducklings on the homes pond!”
