Melbury Court in Durham City, County Durham are celebrating success after Residents and Relatives voted them as one of the Top 20 recommended care homes in North East in the carehome.co.uk awards 2022.
Carehome.co.uk, the UK's leading care home directory and comparison website, holds its annual Care Home Awards to recognise the 20 top-rated care homes in each region of the UK. These are based on individual review scores that carehome.co.uk have received from Residents, and their friends, family and loved ones, demonstrating real life opinions and first-hand experiences from those most closely connected to the home.
Melbury Court received an overall rating of 9.9/10 based on independent reviews, in recognition of the high standards of care provided at the home – which provides residential, nursing and residential dementia services for the local community. The 87-bed] home received a ‘Good’ CQC report in April 2020 in all categories, demonstrating that the home is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
HC-One is committed to providing the highest standards of care in every community they serve, which is demonstrated by their 9.5/10 average rating on the carehome.co.uk website – which is among the highest review scores across the care home sector.
Review from R T (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 August 2022, Carehome.co.uk, stated:
“Just an absolutely beautiful place, the staff are all so welcoming, the residents are well cared for and nothing is too much trouble. My mother has been a resident for around 2 months now and she couldn't be happier, she has settled in so well with the help from all the staff. Our dad sadly passed away before he made it to Melbury to spend time with mam so the transition has been difficult for everyone involved. The staff at Melbury were so understanding and sent beautiful flowers and cards of sympathy, it made a very difficult time just that much more bearable. Truly magical place which is an absolute pleasure to visit.”

In total, 24 HC-One homes received awards for being among the Top 20 care homes in their respective regions with nine receiving awards for being in the Top 20 Care Homes in the North East of England.
