Easter week at Hurst Cross care homeResidents at HC-One’s Kings Park care home, in Ashton-under-Lyne, which offers nursing dementia care, have enjoyed a range of different Easter activities this spring and all have enjoyed the chocolate too!

There was Easter bonnet making and sewing activities using small woollen glove to make stuffed Easter bunnies. Residents Delores, Paula, Hilary and Ann were particularly impressed by this!

The whole community got involved with Easter and Residents were gifted an Easter egg each from the local Morrisons Piccadilly store, Tracy from Baker School of Dance and Steve Barton from Barty’s Food Bank. These generous donations really touched everyone at the home and were hand delivered to each Resident by the home’s own Easter bunny (aka Colleague Emma Smith). The Local St Albion’s Church also visited the home, bringing a basket of delicious treats for Colleagues.

David Owens, who lives at Kings Park, commented, “We were given loads of chocolate!”

An Easter raffle also took place at the home and raised £60 for the Residents’ comfort fund.

Lisa Joy, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Everyone enjoyed the Easter celebrations, and staff loved the Easter gifts. Thank you so much to everyone!”
