Essex Residents enjoy a Hello Spring partyThis week at Godden Lodge in Benfleet, which provides residential, nursing and dementia care, Residents have been welcoming the turn of winter with a Spring party on the 19th of March 2022.
Godden Lodge Residents gathered in their Cephas unit to enjoy some wonderful live music and celebrate the coming of spring. Other Residents from Victoria unit also joined in who absolutely loved the seasonal feel that it brought.
The popular local singer Nick Brown, returned to Godden Lodge at the request of many Residents. His performance got a good number of them up and dancing along, which of course included singing at the top of their voice. A couple of Colleagues also came in on their day off to attend the party, along with plenty of Relatives, which brightened up the day even more for the Residents. 
The Kitchen team had prepared a lovely buffet spread for all to enjoy, which went down very well with everybody in attendance. Colleagues mentioned how lovely it was to see the lounge full of Relatives and Residents all enjoying themselves together and making the most of some time out in the sun, it was such a beautiful day to have a spring themed party.
Donna, a Wellbeing Coordinator at the care home was praised by many for assisting in organising such a wonderful party. Lisa, the daughter of May Nichollas a Resident at Godden Lodge attended the party and went on to say, “Such a great atmosphere, thank you for doing this for them”.
Residents also commented on how lovely it was to see their families all enjoying the party and listening to a live performer. Thelma, a Resident at Godden Lodge enjoyed celebrating the beginning of spring with her daughter, she commented, “Its such a lovely party! And my Francesca is here!”
Lanie, the Home Manager also commented, “It was such a fantastic party, everybody really enjoyed themselves and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful spring day”.
