The last week has been very busy at HC-One’s
Admirals Reach residential, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Chelmsford, with a special 70th birthday and plenty of Christmas preparation.
On 8th December, the Residents were visited by the home’s wellbeing team who were all dressed in Christmas attire (see pictured left). Christmas carols were sand and Residents joined in; smiling throughout the whole experience.
Colleagues Sally, Gill and Sharon sand Silent Night together, much to the Residents’ delight. One Resident remarked, “I used to be in lots of choirs!”
Residents then had a lovely mince pie with a hot drink in the afternoon. The festivities have truly started at Admirals Reach!
Also this month, Resident Steve Woodall celebrated his 70th birthday!
Steve was born on 15th December 1951 in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. He worked in technology throughout his career, even in Oman! He loved travelling throughout his life in the Middle East for holidays.
At the home, Steve enjoys chess, jigsaws, reading the newspaper and following the news on television.
Steve said the secret to a long life is that he, “Loved walking outdoors!”
For the celebrations, presents, wine and chocolates were presented to Steve from Manager Lal, and he was surrounded by Colleagues singing ‘Happy Birthday’ (see pictured right).
With plenty of balloons, banners, and decorations (as well as a delicious cake) it’s easy to say Steve had a wonderful day!
