Finishing the Christmas decorating at Devizes care homeThe Residents at Market Lavington, residential, nursing and dementia care home, in Devizes, enjoyed an afternoon of finishing off making Christmas decorations for an upcoming trip to St. Johns Church in Devizes.

Residents, Dennis Scurrell, Joyce Kennedy, Phyllis Shellard, Gordon Grist, Susie Hilton, and Pam Johnson were joined by Wellbeing Coordinators Michaela and Riaz who helped the group create some festive masterpieces while listening to Christmas songs.

As always everyone got into the spirit of Christmas and sang along to the songs that they knew!

The glitter came out again and the Residents sprinkled everything in sight, including themselves!! Phyllis was excited by all the glitter, she asked, “I wonder what would happen if we mixed all three colours together?”

Many of the Residents said how much fun they had, especially when the tea and cake came round, but were disappointed there weren’t any mince pies!

They are looking forward to seeing their decorations on the tree when we visit St. Johns Church on the 1st of December.

Natasha Howard, Care Home Manager, remarked, “The Residents love getting creative especially around Christmas time.”

As always, the Residents enjoy many different activities. Arts and crafts is becoming more and more popular, especially this time of year. Hopefully there will be many more chances to get creative!
