Four-legged Resident brings joy to Morpeth care homeHC-One’s Foxton Court care home in Morpeth is home for Ruth and her beloved Shitzu, Ted and their bond has warmed the hearts of everyone at the care home.

When Ruth’s health deteriorated, her daughter, Judith, was very anxious about what being separated from her best friend, Ted, would do to her emotional wellbeing. Judith was determined to find a home that would welcome both Ruth and Ted, the team at Foxton Court was pleased to welcome them both to the community.

The pair quickly settled in to life at Foxton Court, with Ted winning over the hearts of both fellow Residents and team members at the care home. Ruth is now the home’s animal therapy champion and Ted is given lots of fuss and attention from everyone, but still prefers nothing more than cuddling on Ruth’s lap.

Judith regularly visits Foxton Court and walks Ted with her mum, even if Ted prefers to stay on Judith’s lap wrapped up in a blanket for most of the walk.

Foxton Court Home Manager, Joanne Bulford said: “I am so pleased we were able to accommodate both Ruth and Ted, seeing their bond is heart-warming and I couldn’t imagine how upsetting it would have been for them both if they didn’t get to spend every day together.”

Located in Loansdean, Foxton Court care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care and residential memory care, for those living with dementia.
