Residents at
Ashington Grange care home in Ashington have been involved in the BT Companionship Buddy System throughout the past couple of years.
As part of the BT Companionship Buddy System, members of BT have been making phone calls to Residents regularly, checking in with them on how things are going and what they have been doing.
The Residents at Ashington Grange have loved speaking to new people and interacting with staff members from BT. They have had the chance to speak to different people every day.
As a thank you from the buddies at BT, they made a visit to the care home to gift the Residents some board games. It was a chance to meet with the Residents they have been speaking too and play some games together.
They brought games like connect 4, ludo, snakes and ladders and some fiddle mats for Residents who like sensory touch.
The staff and Residents at Ashington Grange would like to say a huge thank you to the companions at BT and the kind gesture. It will keep the Resident going for a while!
One Resident, said, “What a lovely gesture, I remember playing these games with my grandchildren.”
Andrea Pringle, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Thank you so much! The Residents loved meeting the companions from BT, it was great.”
