A small group of Residents at
Market Lavington care home, in Wiltshire, Devizes, joined the wellbeing team for an afternoon of festive creation!
The 80-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, has started to make Christmas decorations for their trip to St. Johns church in Devizes at the beginning of December, where they have been given the chance to decorate one of their trees as part of a local competition.
Residents got stuck in with sprinkling glitter onto blank decorations to create something magical and trying different artistic techniques too. They also decorated pinecones to give that extra sparkle.
Susie Hilton, who is a Resident at the home, commented, “I think I got a bit too excited; my hands are blue and sparkly!”
Residents Phillip Kelly, Violet Lloyd, Phyllis Shellard, Susie Hilton, Rona Bushell, and Colleagues, had fun expressing their creativity during this activity and all at the home are looking forward to finishing them off in the coming week and decorating the Christmas tree with the homemade decorations.
Michaela Powell, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “Giving the Residents the opportunity to express themselves through arts and crafts always puts a smile on their face, seeing what they have achieved brightens their day.”
